Entry Requirements
- Passport and visa required.
- Submit current, signed passport and a color copy of the biographic page.
- Passports must be valid at least 6 months.
Note: At least two side-by-side blank visa pages are required; “Amendment” pages are not valid.
- Computer-generated flight itinerary or e-confirmation showing U.S. departure and Vietnam arrival/departure (with record locator) and your name.
- Tour confirmation if traveling for tourism.
Visa Exemption Information
Foreigners who are citizens of countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas by Viet Nam when entering Viet Nam will be granted a 45-day temporary residence certificate (see the list of countries with unilateral visa exemption from Viet Nam). Foreigners exempted from visas under international treaties to which Viet Nam is a party will be granted a temporary stay period according to the provisions of the international treaty. If the international treaty does not stipulate the temporary stay period, a 30-day temporary residence period will be granted.

Photo Requirements
- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.
- Neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open.
- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
- Taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm).
- Head between 1–1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper, in color.
- No glasses.
- No hat or head covering (exceptions for documented religious or medical reasons).
- Full face visible; no shadows on face.
- No headphones or wireless hands-free devices.

- Vaccinations generally not required unless transiting from an infected area.
