Entry Requirements
- Passport and visa required.
- Registration required if your stay exceeds 3 days:
- Hotels register guests automatically.
- If staying privately, register with the local Ministry of Internal Affairs office within 3 business days.
- Fees are paid in soum and are typically about the USD equivalent of $20+ depending on stay length.
Failure to register may result in fines assessed upon departure.
- Valid, signed passport and a color copy of the information page.
- At least two blank visa pages (side-by-side) required. “Amendment” pages are not valid for visas.
- Computer-generated itinerary or airline/tour e-confirmation showing U.S. departure and entry/exit to/from Uzbekistan (with valid record locator).

Photo Requirements
- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.
- Neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open.
- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
- Taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm).
- Head between 1–1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper, in color.
- No glasses.
- No hat or head covering (exceptions for documented religious or medical reasons).
- Full face visible; no shadows on face.
- No headphones or wireless hands-free devices.
If Traveling for Business
- U.S. company cover letter on letterhead, signed by someone other than the traveler.
- Invitation required from Uzbekistan host: the host must process an invitation through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Tashkent. MFA will notify the Consulate in New York. To confirm receipt, call (212) 754-7403 during office hours.
- Self-employed travelers should include a recent bank statement.
