Entry Requirements
- Passport and Visa are required. E-Visa available.
- Typical processing time: 3–7 days (varies).
- Valid, signed passport: Must have at least 6 months validity from the last day of stay and sufficient blank pages for entry/exit stamps.
- Submit your current signed passport and include a color copy of the information page.
Note: To obtain visas, the passport must have at least two blank visa pages side by side. Pages marked “Amendment” are not valid for visas.

- Computer-generated itinerary or airline e-confirmation showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure to/from destination (include record locator).
Photo Requirements
- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.
- Neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open.
- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
- Taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm).
- Head between 1–1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper, in color.
- No glasses.
- No hat or head covering (exceptions for documented religious or medical reasons).
- Full face visible; no shadows on face.
- No headphones or wireless hands-free devices.
If Traveling for Business
Requirements vary by business type — advise JIDS so we can verify exactly what you need.
Multiple-entry additional requirements (typical):
- Passport bio-data page (6+ months validity).
- Recent passport-size photograph.
- Valid police clearance (Interpol or home-country).
- Recommendation letters from two (2) referees in Uganda.
- Cover letter stating reasons for multiple entry, plus proof of entries/exits into Uganda in the past year.
- Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
- U.S. company cover letter on letterhead, signed by someone other than the applicant, and indicating who pays expenses.

If Traveling for Tourism
- Invitation/introductory letter from the person you intend to visit (if applicable).
- Cover letter describing purpose of visit.
- Supporting documents for purpose (e.g., medical or conference invitation, host’s immigration status).
- Round-trip ticket or proof of onward travel.
- Recent passport-size photograph.
- Passport bio-data page (6+ months validity).
- Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
Health Requirements
- Yellow Fever certificate is mandatory. You must carry an International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever.

Accompanying Minors

- U.S. Permanent Residents: include a copy of your Green Card.
- U.S. Visa holders: include a copy of your U.S. visa.

- Application questions will be emailed to you.
- East African Tourist Visa (Kenya–Rwanda–Uganda): Allows travel among the three countries with the same multiple-entry visa. First entry country determines which embassy issues the visa. Call JIDS to confirm where you will enter first and for the correct application process.
