Entry Requirements
- Passport and visa are required.
- Valid, signed passport: Submit your current signed passport and include a color copy of the information page.
- Copy placement: Place the passport data-page copy (with signature) in the upper left half of a Letter-size page; the Embassy needs both the copy and the original.
- Complete and sign one Turkmenistan Visa Application. Glue (do not staple) the photo; write all dates in day-month-year format.
- Provide a computer-generated itinerary or airline e-confirmation showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure to/from Turkmenistan (with record locator).
Photo Requirements
- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.
- Neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open.
- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
- Taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm).
- Head between 1–1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper, in color.
- No glasses.
- No hat or head covering (exceptions for documented religious or medical reasons).
- Full face visible; no shadows on face.
- No headphones or wireless hands-free devices.
If Traveling for Business
- Original business letter of responsibility from a U.S. company.
- The letter must:
- Be on company letterhead.
- Be signed by someone other than the applicant.
- State how expenses will be paid.

If Traveling for Tourism
- Invitation from the person to be visited certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
An invitation letter must be certified by the State Foreign Citizens Registration Service of Turkmenistan and is valid for 3 months from certification. If you are not visiting an individual/organization, contact a tourist agency in Turkmenistan to obtain permission.
Health Requirements
- Vaccinations are not required unless traveling from or through an infected area.

Accompanying Minors

- Include a copy of your U.S. Green Card (permanent residents) or your U.S. visa (visa holders).
