Important Travel Update
Starting in late 2026, travelers from visa-exempt countries will be required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) travel authorization before visiting the European countries requiring it. We recommend checking the official European Union ETIAS website for the most current requirements and implementation timelines.
Entry Requirements

US passport must be signed, valid for at least 6 months and with at least 2-3 blank visa pages (not amendment pages). If your passport does not meet the requirements, we can assist with obtaining new passport or passport renewal.
EUROPE UNION will require ETA VISAS FOR MANY NATIONALITIES as of 2024. US CITIZENS ARE ON THIS LIST. The rules of travel to Europe have changed. Starting from 2024, travelers from over 60 visa-exempt countries must have a travel authorisation. CHECK YOUR PASSPORTS for at least 3 months validity from last day of travel.
Applications may take longer; decisions are usually within 4 days but can extend to 14–30 days if more information is needed. Apply well in advance.
- All travelers must complete their PLF until the day before entering the country. One PLF per family. https://travel.gov.gr/#/
- Valid signed passport, valid for 6 months from last day of stay.
- No visa required for tourism/business up to 90 days.
JIDS recommends your passport is valid for at least six months from your last day of stay.
Photo Requirements
- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.
- Neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open.
- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
- Taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm).
- Head between 1–1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper, in color.
- No glasses.
- No hat or head covering (exceptions for documented religious or medical reasons).
- Full face visible; no shadows on face.
- No headphones or wireless hands-free devices.

- Vaccinations are NOT required unless traveling from/through an infected area.

Register Your Trip (STEP)

Accompanying Minors
- Application signed by both parents/guardians.
- Notarized consent letter signed by both parents/guardians.
- Original and copy of the minor's birth certificate.
Non-U.S. Citizens
- Include a copy of your U.S. Green Card (permanent residents) or your U.S. visa (visa holders).

Additional Information
Greece – Schengen State
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of 3 months beyond last day of stay.
- If your passport does not meet Schengen requirements, you may be refused boarding or denied entry. We recommend at least 6 months validity whenever you travel abroad.
