Entry Requirements
Visa-free entry to China notice
China has decided to implement a unilateral visa-free policy on a trial basis for holders of ordinary passports from 19 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Malaysia, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Slovenia. From now to December 31, 2025, holders of ordinary passports from the above countries can enter China visa-free for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends and transit for no more than 15 days. Those who do not meet the visa exemption requirements from the above countries still need to obtain a visa to China before entering the country.

Regarding Chinese VISA: ALLOW 2-3 weeks for CHINA VISA PROCESS. As of October 8, 2025, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates-General in the US have transitioned to a fully digital platform, now offering its services online. Applicants and visitors can conveniently access consular information and submit documents through the official website, streamlining the process and enhancing efficiency.

Affidavit (if visited Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan): Form provided by JIDS; list exact dates/purposes matching passport stamps and application. On the questioner, please upload scanned entry and exit stamps from passport.

Photo Requirements
- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.
- Neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open.
- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
- Taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm).
- Head between 1–1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper, in color.
- No glasses.
- No hat or head covering (exceptions for documented religious or medical reasons).
- Full face visible; no shadows on face.
- No headphones or wireless hands-free devices.
If Traveling for Tourism

- Last 3 months of bank statements showing a balance of 2000 dollars or more
- For minors Parents or legal guardians must provide a statements financially responsible along with bank statements

Health Requirements
- No vaccines are required; call the airline for boarding requirements and COVID pre-testing. Regardless of vaccination status, a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours before departure is required; no quarantine at this time.
- Standards of medical care outside major Chinese cities may differ from the US; consider special preparations.
