Entry Requirements
- Entry or transit permit upon arrival available for stays up to 60 days (tourism/business). U.S. nationals residing in Samoa must obtain permission in advance.
- Valid, signed U.S. passport with at least 6 months validity from the last day of stay.
- Proof of sufficient funds for your stay and documents for onward/return travel are required.
JIDS recommends your passport be valid at least six months past your final travel date.
Photo Requirements
- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.
- Neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open.
- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
- Taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm).
- Head between 1–1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper, in color.
- No glasses.
- No hat or head covering (exceptions for documented religious or medical reasons).
- Full face visible; no shadows on face.
- No headphones or wireless hands-free devices.

- Vaccinations are not required unless you depart from or transit an area with yellow fever risk within 6 days before arrival.
