Entry Requirements
- Valid Passport
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months beyond the intended stay.
- ETA-IL (starting Jan 1, 2025): US citizens will need an ETA-IL to enter Israel.
- What is ETA-IL? An online authorization allowing stays for tourism up to 90 days for eligible (visa-exempt) passport holders.
- B/2 Visa: For tourism, medical tourism, business meetings, or short-term (non-academic) study. Work is not permitted. Typically single entry, valid 3 months from issuance. Visa-exempt nationals still need ETA-IL before travel. Former foreign workers in agriculture/construction/caregiving may apply for B/2 one year after leaving Israel.

- Onward or return ticket required.
- Proof of sufficient funds required.
- Must complete and submit an online Entry Statement within 10 days of departure and no later than 48 hours before departure: form link.
- Must present a health insurance policy with COVID-19 coverage during stay. (Temporary residents with A/1–A/5 or B/1 with employer coverage, and arrivals from Ukraine, are exempt.)
- Optional: Download the Hamagen (The Shield) mobile app.
- From 20 May 2022: No pre-departure COVID test, and no test/isolation on arrival. See the COVID-19 Air Transport website for current details.
Photo Requirements
- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.
- Neutral facial expression or natural smile, with both eyes open.
- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
- Taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm).
- Head between 1–1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper, in color.
- No glasses.
- No hat or head covering (exceptions for documented religious or medical reasons).
- Full face visible; no shadows on face.
- No headphones or wireless hands-free devices.
